Candy Cane (STASH 3 / INDICA CB)
Happy Hump Day Stonerds! We’ve got another great utility CannaBeast from the Winter Blazed set, Candy Cane. Candy Cane is at a similar level to cards such as Cotton Candy Kush, but with different utility. Candy Cane’s ability “When this card is destroyed gain 100 pounds.,” is great to utilize at any point in the game, similar to drawing cards you should always jump at the chance to increase your pounds.
With a base attack of 100 Candy Cane isn’t going to be a CannaBeast that comes on the field and takes over for you. Even with 3 Liquid Seaweeds on the field you’ll only be able to buff your Candy Cane up to 190 attack. While it is possible to buff Candy Cane into a Beast that could hold it’s own against similar mid-ranged Beasts it’s almost a shot in the dark.
What Candy Cane is great at though is being a perfectly ‘wasteable’ card as defensive bait or to use as a tribute to plant a stronger CannaBeast. Candy Cane is the perfect card to use as the discard option for the variety of discard utility cards in CannaBeast as well. What better way to top off using a Bud Buster than to gain pounds in the process, or used with Binks and Billy you can gain 200 pounds as opposed to the standard 100 from B&B alone.
Candy Cane: Pairs well with
Any CannaBeast 20% THC Level or higher.
Binks and Billy: Discard a card from your hand and gain 100 pounds. (Nutrient, Stash 1)
Bud Buster: Discard 1 card from your hand and select one CannaBeast on your opponent's side of the field and send it to the ashtray. (Nutrient, Stash 1)
Liquid Seaweed: This card remains on the field unless destroyed by card effect. As long as this card remains on the field, all Indica CannaBeasts you control gain 30 attack and 30 defense. (Nutrient, Stash 3)
